Two sides who find themselves battling it out at the top of the League Two table, Leyton Orient will welcome Stevenage to Brisbane Road.
Starting with the hosts, last seen on December 17th putting in another eye-catching display as they picked up a 2-0 victory at home against Sutton, Leyton Orient have only continued on a remarkable purple patch this season. Opening up Tuesday’s fixtures holding a commanding seven-point buffer at the top of the table and skyrocketing towards a League One return in 2023, Richie Wellens’ men find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Looking to lay down another marker in midweek, the one-time Salford boss has now seen his side win each of their last four straight outings. With that run highlighted by a 3-0 romp against Bradford earlier in the month, Orient have also impressed with their rampant displays in the final third. It should be noted, Tuesday’s hosts have bagged 35 League Two strikes this season – the second-best attacking tally in England’s fourth-tier.
As for the visitors, while Stevenage might have been last seen crashing out of the EFL Trophy following a 3-0 drumming at the hands of Portsmouth, Steve Evans’ side are still enjoying their own stellar run. Making the trip to London on Tuesday lunchtime holding a two-point advantage from dropping out of the automatic promotion places, the ex-Gillingham boss has seen his squad lose just one of their previous 12 League Two outings – a run that stems all the way back to September 17th. Showing a string of remarkable improvements since just about clinging to their fourth-tier status last season, Stevenage will be desperate to spring an upset in midweek. With the two sides playing out a 2-2 draw when they last faced off back on March 5th, we’re backing what could be another enjoyable affair at Brisbane Road.
